LISTENING FIRST. TREATING SECOND.

Experienced, Personalized, and Medically Grounded Care

John Kurtz, PA-C, brings more than 18 years of clinical experience and 27 years of service in the United States Army to Asclepian Age & Regenerative Care.

He specializes in hormone optimization, menopause care, medical weight loss, PMOS care, musculoskeletal ultrasound-guided PRP, and sexual wellness treatments. His clinical approach is built on careful listening, thoughtful evaluation, patient education, and individualized treatment planning.

He believes patients deserve to understand what is happening in their body, why a treatment plan is being recommended, and how care may need to evolve over time.

HEARD. UNDERSTOOD. TREATED.

My Approach to Care

I want my patients to feel heard.

Too often, people know something is wrong, but they are told everything looks “normal” and are left without meaningful answers. I believe that how a patient feels is just as important as what a lab report shows.

A lab value that falls within a reference range does not always explain how a patient actually feels.

I do not believe in prescribing just to prescribe, and I do not expect patients to follow a treatment plan blindly. My goal is to help each patient understand the why behind their care, so treatment becomes a partnership, not just a prescription.

Every treatment plan is individually created and adjusted as needed. One size does not fit all.

THIS WORK IS PERSONAL

Why This Work Matters to Me

My path into hormone and menopause-focused care is personal.

Years ago, I was told that I had low testosterone levels. At the time, I was still serving in the military, and pursuing treatment could have affected my military career. Because of that, I delayed treatment for years and did everything I could to try to manage it naturally.

I stayed disciplined. I worked hard. I tried to improve my energy, performance, and overall health through lifestyle, training, and consistency. But over time, I realized that no matter how much effort I put in, there was still a missing component. I was putting in tremendous effort for very little improvement, and in many ways I was fighting just to keep from getting worse.

The deeper motivation came later, when I watched my wife unexpectedly and rapidly move into perimenopause and then menopause. I saw firsthand how much it affected her sleep, energy, motivation, comfort, and overall quality of life. Like many women, she was essentially being told that this was just a normal stage of life and something she simply had to live with.

I knew there had to be a better answer than that.

I saw how hard she was trying, how discouraged she felt, and how frustrating it was to keep hearing versions of the same plan without anyone truly listening to what she was experiencing. That experience pushed me to look deeper, learn more, and find a better way forward — not just for us, but for the patients I now care for.

Since beginning that journey, both of us are healthier, happier, and living with a better quality of life. It strengthened my belief that patients deserve more than being told to simply accept poor sleep, decline, low energy, loss of motivation, or feeling unlike themselves.

That is a major reason why I care so deeply about this work today.

SHAPED BY SERVICE

Military Service and Professional Background
USA-Army-Logo-MS.png

My military background shaped the way I practice medicine.

Across 27 years in the United States Army, including service after graduating from the Interservice Physician Assistant Program in 2007, I cared for active-duty service members, Special Operations Forces, athletes, and patients in diverse settings both in the U.S. and overseas.

That experience taught me discipline, accountability, adaptability, and the importance of precision in patient care. It also shaped the culture I want Asclepian ARC to reflect: structured, mission-driven, ethical, and centered on long-term health.

MORE THAN CHECKING BOXES

What I Want for My Patients

I want my patients to feel good, look good, and be able to live life — not just be alive.

I do not believe that getting older should automatically mean giving up energy, strength, clarity, intimacy, confidence, mobility, or joy in everyday life.

When it comes to hormone and metabolic health, my focus is not just on checking boxes. It is on helping patients improve quality of life in a way that is thoughtful, safe, and sustainable.

BEYOND THE PRACTICE

Outside the Clinic

Outside of medicine, John enjoys time with his wife, Sunny, their two sons, and two grandsons. He values family, faith, and the outdoors, including water sports, hiking, and hunting. He also remains active in supporting veterans and community causes through his involvement with The American Legion.
